Led Ashtray...

Anyone else feeling led astray during this party season towards all things bad for us alcohol, cigarettes, sugary treats and stodgy comfort food? Well I shall be commencing another new year detox plan come January's new beginnings. In fact, the nutrition plan over Christmas is a busy one for the Nutrition Kitchen. Just a handful of projects planned:
  • Design NK website
  • Planning a daily diet for a team of cyclists travelling the width of the USA for Charity (one of whom is coeliac)
  • Designing a detox programme for myself and others to follow
  • Inviting friends to view and comment on detox programme cookery sessions in the Nutrition Kitchen
Important to have projects planned, if we are to be snowed in through out the festive season...come on snow!

Sprouting Little Sprouts...

In the midst of launching Little Sprouts...the kid's version of Nutrition in the Kitchen. The concept is introducing the under 5s to fruit, vegetables and cooking away from meal times. Have a hoot with a root without having to eat 4 forkfuls before being allowed to leave the table! With a parent present interacting with their child through out the class, it is an education for adults and children alike. An all singing and dancing experience in the kitchen for little ones who are less than confident about the food that is put on their plate. Positive reinforcement, patience and repetition are, other than Little Sprouts, the name of the game. And yes...brussel sprouts will feature on the menu...and more than just once a year. The next session is planned for January 2010.

'New'tritional Beginnings....

The beginning of Nutrition in the Kitchen is underway. I'm contacting the Council, the Inland Revenue. I'm gathering quotes for my website and promotional material. I'm sampling new recipes in the kitchen (I've come across some amazing new cookbooks - expect reviews to follow shortly). I'm updating the premises - one beautiful new cooker installed, and one ferocious new fridge to arrive next week. The only area I'm struggling to find time to attack is my protocols. Relevant to the health conditions I want to cover; these protocols require research around the condition, scripting the demo and writing the material, exploring the recipes to support the condition, testing and tasting the results. So a relatively big investment of time...and money, but nevertheless a rewarding one. Perhaps I'll do a Weightloss one this w/e. Think that's going to be my hottest topic. Detox, Sports Nutrition and Gluten Free to follow....watch this space.
